I have recently discovered (since I bought a second battery), that I can swap batteries without shutting my MacBook Pro down. As long as I don't take more than a few seconds, the machine starts up in its state prior to the battery swap. There is no need to reboot.

This surprised me. Is there a little internal battery in the machine?

Any background information?

Cheers
Rob
