Hi

It's about 17 years since I last did serious unix systems programming, so I am a bit rusty.

As I travel about various conferences, they often have wireless networks, and I can download my emails into Eudora. However, I couldn't easily send emails, because access is restricted to avoid spam.

However, I found I could use the unix part of OSX to set up my mac as an SMTP (send mail) server while I am away.

Just type 'sudo postfix start' in Terminal and you're away. Great!

What I've recently found is that if I am not actually online (but postfix is running) then Eudora thinks it has sent mail, but postfix doesn't actually send it. In fact, even after I get online again, postfix doesn't send it. In one case, it took a month.

So, my questions for the geeks:
- how can I tell what is queued in postfix?
- how can I get postfix to send my queued mail when it gets online?

Cheers
Rob
