Hi John I guess it depends exactly what your problem is.... You need to look at it one step at a time (not necessarily in this order):
1) Get the file onto the iMac - if this is a problem because (as Merv assumes) it is on a floppy then options would include finding another mac or even a PC with a floppy drive & copying the file onto either a CD or USB flash drive which the iMac can then access (or even email the file back to the iMac). 2) Identify (or remember?) what application created it. If it is, indeed, Claris Works then Appleworks (developed from claris works) would probably open it. Other wise Google should help suggest alternatives for compatible programs. Once opened you should be able to save it into a more accessible format - depending what your usual application is. If you know it is Claris works and also have the floppy problem you might be able to cut out a step if you can find someone with an old mac with both a floppy drive and Claris/appleworks installed (I possibly have this on an old mac - but I am in Albany so I would expect you could find a closer solution!) Hope that helps. Cheers Neil -- Neil R.
