Thanks for your patience Matt! Yes, that link worked fine & I was able to confirm that I:
Received posts up to #42702 Did not receive posts #42703 to #42716 Received posts from #42717 However, I have no idea why I missed those 14 posts - I now realise the problem was not at the WAMUG end :) but I'm now worried what other emails may have gone astray! My email address is associated with a personal possumology.com domain which was recently registered through & hosted by, Servers Australia. My ISP is Internode. The trouble is the problem wasn't just my email going down - I did get other emails during this period and I was able to retrieve them from the server - though subjectively it does seem that I got less than usual (though I'm not sure how much of that perception could just be the missing WAMUG posts) - so now I don't really know how to go about trying to track down the problem (which seems to have fixed itself). It just serves to remind me how much I now rely on email & trust that if someone sends me something, I'll get it. The problem, of course, is not the ones you KNOW you've missed - you can always follow those up - it's the ones where you don't know the emails was sent but the sender just assumes you got it (& unless they are specifically expecting a prompt response probably won't follow it up). Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to find out what might have happened to the missing posts or how to check if any other mail went astray (I suspect this is a hopeless task but, then again, the ingenuity of the WAMUG list never fails to amaze me!) TIA Neil By the way, I'm also owner of a couple of Yahoo groups and have noticed recently that there seems to be more instances of other people missing our messages (including myself) though these tend to be more intermittent. I sometimes wonder if this is all a sign of a general malaise with the email system buckling under the weight of spam? -- Neil R.
