wellllll...... photo-editing, web browsing and gaming ARE legitimate
parts of modern (post 80's) computer experience and no doubt if you
threw that in to the mix the mac plus would lose serious points with
a whole swag of "NDF's" (Did Not Finish") or forfeitures.....
and I'd hate to do word processing on a HP calculator circa 1982
(except for mildly amusing experience of typing out 55319009 )
spreadsheets on paper anyone? anyone even remember them (I think I
still have a box of A4 , A3 and even A2 spreadsheets somewhere...
being eaten by silverfish and moths no doubt)
but having supported, since 1986, users primarily using office
productivity software I can personally say that apart from the steep
learning curve on proprietary text only spreadsheet and word
processing programs old mainframe/supermini applications our users
were far more productive (in terms of words per minute/documents per
hour) per hour spent in front of the computer back then... AND most
of our users required tech support only once every 3 or 4 months...
if that.
