G'day list

I can't get Mail.app (or Thunderbird) to work on an iMac connected to the internet via computer to computer Airport.

Computer 1 is Intel Core Duo running 10.4.10 and connected directly to internet via ethernet to cable modem (Telstra). Set to share internet connection via Airport.

Computer 2 is G4 running 10.3.9 and shares internet over Airport. Works fine. (It also has printers connected to its ethernet port and to its USB port which it shares back to computer 1. Works fine)

But can't get mail reader on Computer 2 to connect to either incoming or outgoing mail servers. Tried with .mac mail and with Gmail. Tried Mail.app and Thunderbird. No go. No problem reading mail on web on Computer 2.

Is there a way to get this to work?

TIA

Dudley Gager
