Hi Wamugers
Could someone solve a keyboard problem.
I have an iMac 20 Intel
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
OSX10.4.1
For me it's another lovely iMac [and I still have 3 older ones
including the
1986 iMac 720 floppy drive in the shed]
Getting to the point I use MS Office Word 2004 11.3.5 and have
struck a
problem with using the delete / backspace key below F13.
It's normal for it to delete a word phrase sentence etcetra when
that is
highlighted. Nup it simply moves the cursor to the beginning of the
highlight.
The delete / backspace key does delete the letter preceding the
cursor when
the letter is not highlighted -normal- and the delete key below
below Help
does delete whatever is highlighted -normal again.
The other thing is that Excel and PowerPoint do not exhibit this
problem
with the delete / backspace key
I must have created a keyboard option to cause this problem with
clumsy
typing - hitting a key combo in error.
Apple Care couldn't help and Microsoft support have PC keyboards with
NUMLOCKS and INSERT keys.
So can anyone resolve this?
Hi Marcus,
I don't use Word 2004, so I'm not at all familiar with it, but it
sounds to me that you could have a Preference setting wrong.
Have you looked at your Word > Preferences > Edit for the Tabs &
Backspace Set Left Indent checkbox?
Cheers,
Ronni
