Of course, the iMac comes with Garageband already installed, but
there are also the very inexpensive but powerful notation apps Melody
Assistant and Harmony Assistant. They have both Windows and Mac
versions, so he can check them out on his PC before making the
commitment. Versiontracker, naturally...
