Hi Bart

I have been with e-wire for several years now.
They have been fairly good, but the main reason for going with them was that
they had the best available service in Ellenbrook at the time.

The one bonus with e-wire's network in Ellenbrook is that we get free-to-air
television via the cable, and there are options available for VOiP, and I heard
they are also developing an iP-TV service.

I have had a few issues with them, and their Mac support can be a bit 'hit and
miss'.
They managed to drop me off the network for about a month earlier this year
when they couldn't deal with the fact that I had put one of the new airport
extreme base stations on my network, then couldn't give me the correct
instructions for 'network authentication'.

I also had some issues with their Mac OS X instructions, when they changed
their network authentication from DHCP to PPPoE. Since this change I have also
had to reset the cable modem and airport base station on a regular basis.

The other issue with E-wire is that they only service specific areas, so you
need to be sure that you won't be moving house much!

It sounds as though E-wire will be losing the Ellenbrook contract shortly, and
I have the distinct feeling that Telstra may be getting the new contract, and
marketing in under the banner of 'Telstra Smart Communities'. Unfortunately at
present Telstra are the only providers of ADSL2+, and E-wire has the contract
for the fibre optic network.

I will stay with E-wire for now, but when their contract for the cable network
is handed over, I think I will be looking at someone like Westnet or iiNet.
