Dear Wamuggers

I am having trouble with my aged G3 iMac and wonder if
there are any "easy fixes" please:

1. Disk full message on Outlook Express. Deleted lots
of old mail, worked for a while, but now won't boot in
OSX.
I'm wary of again visiting Classic to delete more
because of
further issues since this.

2. Scattered desk icons on OSX start-up. Re-sized
and re- fonted.

3. Can't print: "Error Printing" box.

4. No History being recorded.

5. Can't put subject into this subject box because
Safari quits.

This is weird. Is my iMac dying??

Thanks

Ros

Hi Ros,

You haven't actually mentioned if the disk really is full or not.
Full disks can give some odd symptoms but maybe not as odd as your's.

If it was almost full, deleting emails may not relieve the problem
enough to stop the errors.
If it isn't almost full you might consider the prospect of the disk
itself beginning to fail causing 'write errors' which might seem like
insufficient space to Outlook Express etc, not sure.

If you have the OS X CD/DVD you could boot from that and get it to run
a disk check/repair, I would repair the permissions while I was there
too.

BTW it isn't too awful replacing the hard disk in some iMacs.

Good luck
Paul
