Hi Ken

The quality of Skype is much improved in the last few years, and you can easily have three people on the same call at the same time. Mac and windows no problem.

Just have all three parties get skype accounts (free) then connect the call.

My only concern would be that the quality of the microphones on those headsets is nowhere near broadcast quality, and you can obviously get quite a bit of echo, depending on the surroundings of the speaker, because they are not in a booth.

If you are only getting a remote client to listen in on a VO sesson which is being read in a booth with a pro mike, probably ideal.

The sessions do sometimes drop out, too. But not too badly.

I use skype to link with two friends while we play WoW. One is in Dubai, one in Perth, and the sound quality and response time is almost identical. I'm also using it to get lessons on a new bit of software I am reviewing out of Ireland. All free.

The hardest bit will be guiding clients through how to downalod, install, register and connect.

Hi everybody

hope all is good.

I have a question re the privacy & workability of Skype for use between
studios in Australia, to communicate while recording, where the clients,
with an inexpensive headset, could log into our studio, and we would then
connect to your computer, so they could hear and direct your read in real
time; and then direct the production of the track.

I may be a bit off the usual post subject but I'm trying to do it on a Mac
whilst working between Mac & the Dark Side. (Not Intel platforms either).

Running 10.4.10 on Tiger, a G5 dual.

I'd be very grateful if anyone has previous experience & could wise me up
about it?

Thanks,

Ken
