Hi fellow WAMUGgers
Thanks to Paul for the suggestion about iStat. I did download iStat
Sensor and read about it, but for some reason, while it did load as a
widget into Dashboard, it was missing half the information (It can't
find any fans in my system). I have emailed slayer support.
However, I would still like to say thank you for the suggestion.
Thanks Robert for your response. Call me paranoid, but I keep reading
of conflicts with so many applications and system files, that I might
wait a little longer to consider using Leopard. I do like Tiger, and
I'm going to try to download it onto my eMac (which currently has
Panther installed).
I have unfortunately come to the realisation that this Mac is not
going to be able to do the things that I bought it to for
(predominantly for Games play - since I've finished studying now),
so, come Boxing Day, I think this computer will be going back into
its box, and I'll probably be returning to using my trusty old eMac.
Slower - but definitely more reliable and user-friendly. (Am thinking
of keeping the Intel Mac in a box till winter, till I need a heater).
Can anyone tell me which Mac computer I can start saving up for,
that has an 'Intel Video Card', or the capacity to fit one, and will
play Universal Binary Games. I have tried to find out information
about this elusive 'Intel Video Card' on the WAMUG archives, from
the Apple Support pages, and by googling, to no avail. Most of my UB
games will not install because they cannot detect this little critter.
Sorry about my negativity, but at this stage I have found very little
to get excited about with this new computer configuration.
Any suggestions about an alternative (perhaps earlier, but more
functional and games-friendly) Mac model would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Rosie
