Thank you Ronda.
I did all that .... twice !!
However each time I restart I am able to use iMovie 06 Help just once
after which the problem returns.
Of course once help is used those files return.
Any idea how to stop this ?

Hi folks,
I seem to have lost my HELP facility in iMovie 06.
I select the help pull down and type in my request.
The list of options appears.
However when I select an option, a blank window appears for a few
seconds then it is gone.
Hello Stephen,
If you are using Tiger:
Go to User/Library/Preferences
and delete the following files:
com.apple.help.plist
com.apple.helpui.plist
com.apple.helpviewer.plist
Next go to User/Library/Caches
and delete the com.apple.helpui folder.
Restart your Computer
