Answering part 1 of the question might also answer part 2.

For part 1 you need to have QuickTime Pro.

Import the movie into QuickTime (You might need something like Perian to play .flv files, it is free at http://perian.org/#detail)

Next export the document from Quicktime Pro as a Movie to DV stream.

You will now be able to drag these files onto the iMovie window and they will import easily.

In iMovie set up the individual movieclips as chapters then export to iDVD.

I wouldn't use iTunes in this process at all.

                      Regards,
                      Eugene

note: Perian enables QuickTime application support for additional Media Types:

    * AVI, FLV, and MKV file formats
* MS-MPEG4 v1 & v2, DivX, 3ivX, H.264, FLV1, FSV1, VP6, H263I, VP3, HuffYUV, FFVHuff, MPEG1 & MPEG2 Video, Fraps, Windows Media Audio v1 & v2, Flash ADPCM, Xiph Vorbis (in Matroska), MPEG Layer II Audio
    * AVI support for: AAC, AC3 Audio, H.264, MPEG4, and VBR MP3
    * Subtitle support for SSA and SRT

howdy
I've downloaded a number of youtube videos, mainly BMWs and Alpinas and Top Gear and Fifthgear using tubetv.
Now I want to make my own DVD of my collection using iDVD 6.
Do I need to convert the flv files to mov files first?

secondly,
in the Movies folder, I have made sub folders ( BMw, Alpina, Topgear etc) wher I have place these vidoe clips.

these don't show up in either iTune, or iDVD.

do they all have to be in the one folder, and not split up? for IDVD and iTunes to see them.

thanks
