Hi all.

Time Machine, on my new 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, cannot see the 250 Gb FW drive which I have used for more than a year as storage for backups and their catalogues from my G4iMac.

I have erased the drive, using Disk Utility, and can still drag and drop files (Word and Excel) to it. The Time Machine preference pane is still exactly as it was when first opened, ie. it shows the drive's icon solid (but the GB usage is grey). Of the two buttons on offer <Cancel> is solid but <Use as Backup> is grey, giving me no choice to but cancel.

I would certainly appreciate any ideas because Time Machine offers a big improvement on my past slap-dash backup routine.
