I might as well add my bit.

I had used Computer Trade Centre exclusively almost since they started. As they provided first class and better service I learnt a hell of a lot about Macs.

When they closed I was devastated. However I was armed with 'The Knowledge'.

As DigiLife in the city was convenient I got my software from them but I knew exactly what I wanted and what price I should pay. However was not very impressed with the customer service. I did try the service department a few time but they were hopeless so went to Artref.

Currently I'm negotiating with a number of people including Artref to provide my support.

Now armed with the other Mac places in Perth I can now look further.

Customer service is the name of the game! A good sales person can sell the milk in his/her mother's milk?

Know what you wanted and get what you want! The Apple web site is an excellent resource.

Or..you have to deliver awesome service like Applecentre Joondalup. Service that Mac Evangelists will travel for. :-) Myer, DJs and, frankly, Digilife never held a candle to Mike.

I remember them well Reg :-)

And not knowing when the elephant in the room (Apple) is likely to open a store, plus Myers, DJs and other retailers selling macs makes life difficult. You either have to specialise like Artref and Team Digital, be a big chain like nextbyte, or be beyond the major retail arc like Macworx. Being in the city with extraordinary rents and low margin products is an incredibly hard way to make a dollar.
