Hi all,
My external DVD burner is about to get the sack so I thought I'd
check with the group
to see if there a preferred model to hook up to my 24" iMac 3 Ghz,
OS 10.5.7
Perhaps one that lasts a bit longer than the couple of years I got
out of this one a Pioneer DVR-111D.
Suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

So Brian , Is it just the burner that is in trouble ? Is it possible
to open the case
remove the burner and instal another ?
Yeasr old , so it will most likely be an IDE or Eide connection and
protocol ,
so you would need the same to replace it ... not a Sata ... which are
all the latest version burners .
Some of the IDE are still available but you need to shop around
Pioneer are hard to find , but it would not have to be that brand.
I might know where to try .. mail off list if you are interested .
Typical price would be around $35 in Perth
