I use Skype for both calls and chats. On a call the sound and video
are fine. However, all the notification sounds are silent, such as
when someone initiates a chat or during a chat I type and then hit
Enter, no sound. These all used to work though I can not pin down
exactly when. All my sound settings in Skype and Mac are as they
should be as far as I can see. I have the latest version 2.8.0.722
(not the later beta) and OSX 10.5.8. Additionally, though it is in my
profile my picture does not show in a chatee's window. I have deleted
the com.skype.skype.plist file and restarted to no avail. I am loath
to monkey with the multitude of other Skype files. Before I take a
note of all my contacts then clear out and do a "clean reinstall" of
Skype maybe someone has words of wisdom to offer, please?
