That is easy to filter - if you set a mail rule to filter out items
from you to you - set it to save to a folder and delete after 7 days,
just in case there are times you email yourself.
My hosting company uses SpamAssassin from memory and it kills 95% of
spam before it even reaches my mailboxes... which is a good thing as
for some of my accounts I can collect it from up to four different
locations (and yes, I probably should move to IMAP rather than POP3,
but as I also have an archive of 20+ years worth of email IMAP
becomes impractical)
I hate spam assassin - it once junked an important junk offer and I
only found it a week later. Lucky I checked. Personally I abhor ISP
level filtering as it never hits your box, so the only way to check
it is to log in. Even at lowest settings I still have mail from
trusted sources (eg my mother!) being filtered. The worst culprit is
RealMail.
