Hi all WAMUGgers
Further to my previous question, I've played around with Elluminate's
vRoom and certainly will use this for school. Not sure if it's going
to work for family links though, with son Damien in HK and China using
his Nokia N97. Skype doesn't work on his Nokia as it's too new for
their software and Microsoft Messenger for Mac doesn't have voice or
video (stupid). However Meebo looks promising (www.meebo.com). It
allows web access to a range of chat apps including Facebook,
Messenger, AIM, Jabber, Yahoo, MySpace and GoogleTalk, amongst many
more. Interestingly it allows Messenger voice and video chats using
the Mac. I'm still working on that though as testing it at home, we
seem only to be getting voice one-way. We're hoping it will work and
that Damien can access Messenger and/or Meebo from China. Any tips
anyone?
Also I notice Gizmo Project has been bought by Google. Is that the
substance of Google Talk? I haven't looked at that yet.
