Hi Jennifer,
The later Repair Permissions showed many more items.
What was the repair permissions report?

Thank you, Ronnie,
I will do that.
I use Gmail for my WAMUG list although my concern is with Mail. My
email to WAMUG which you have answered has not appeared in my WAMUG
inbox although there have been questions from others arriving. Greg
Manzie very kindly came to the rescue yesterday off list and we
found Mail Preferences missing from my Home Library and my Hard Disc
library. (I hope I have that right.) At his suggestion, I did a
Repair Permissions and a Combo Update followed by another Repair
Permissions. The later Repair Permissions showed many more items.
Perhaps I need to call Apple service and I am really adding all this
extra detail today for your information rather than expecting to
take up more of your time.
Incidentally, Mail seems all right today!
Thanks again, Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
1. Try deleting the "incorrect" name from the "previous recipients"
list (under "Window" in Mail).
2. Then Quit Mail
3. Restart Mail (3.6)

Good Morning Everyone,
For some time I have had very occasional delays in delivery of
email both sending and receiving using Mail which the server has
not been able to explain. I now find that in the 'To' line of
some received emails, the name is of someone in my address book and
not my name. It is only some and group emails appear unaffected.
Many months ago the person whose name appears had her address book
used by a spammer, but I did not respond to that. However, I am
wondering if there could be a connection and if I could have
corruption or a virus? Has anyone had a similar experience? I
must emphasise that my knowledge is very basic.
I am working on Mac OS X 10.5.8 Mail version 3.6 (936) Address Book
Version 4.1.2 (702)
I'll be very grateful for any clues.
regards,
Jennifer
