Hi James

I have had a similar problem in that I have not received (random) emails from a supplier who has an Ozemail address. My understanding is that Ozemail is owned by iinet and therein lies the problem. There is reference to iinet in the message below. iinet have been blacklisted on a service called Barracuda, which is used by my ISP, Highway1, and maybe other services which monitor spam generators. iinet has to white list themselves somehow.

My supplier clicks on a link in the bounceback message they get that allows them to be white listed and this works for a while and then we go through the whole process again. I can't understand how iinet, a relatively large ISP, can get blacklisted and allow themselves to remain so.

---------------------------- answer from iinet:

We appreciate you have sent us the detailed message you have received from the server.

Apparently your emails are getting blocked by this protection server for the reason that your email address is generating unsolicited emails which are called Spam. This could be due to some virus in your system which can be rectified if you get a good system scan with an anti virus software.

To unblock the access please ring ABL on their WA number 08 8300 0464.

If you have any further queries please feel free to email us.

my question is how common is it that a mac is producing spam (or used as a bot)
