bob is the same as naked broadband
very important is no power - no bob - no phone !!!!!
ups is require especially if you need a phone for medic reasons
i have seen places where naked broadband works well (5mbps) & other
places where they have to reboot 3x a day
the dvd recorder... you may take a punt, it could be a overvoltage
protection blown, which can be replaced but if the whole power pack
is fried then you may consider a new recorder....
in Daniels case 4 boards with 8 points each i won't faint if i see
that, the only is do not try to switch on all at once the rush in
current puts the fuse out.......
i have seen once a piggyback plug system with 15 plugs on top of each
other & the whole power consumtion was 4kw through a 3x 0.75 mm2
cable, the cable had a better heating effect than the connected
heater.......

unplugged. In doing so I saved the new iMac, big screen TV and

Trouble is I forgot about the telephone line and the TV aerial.
Result, one very close lightning strike fried the telephone,
netgear modum and the Sony DVD recorder.
All will have to be repaired or replaced. The first two can be

The second is does anyone know of a good repairer of said items
