Hi Chris,
I use MYOB Mac from home and also MYOB Win in the office. My
understanding is that as long as the most current programs are being
used (for Mac and Win) - these files will work on both pcs. This I
have been told is the latest MYOB capability between the two PCs.
In my own experience, I have put the Win MYOB file on the Mac, opened
within MYOB and have gotten an identical file. The same applies the
other way around (however, I personally have not had the need to
transfer Mac to Win - but my accountant assures me it functions
correctly on the Win) You do not need to change the extensions.
Copy the latest Backup zip file, say on a thumb drive and place into
PC and open again within MYOB.
I do not know about the network versions, but would be surprised if
they did not function in the same way.
I hope this is helpful
Cheers

Hi All,
Just doing some preliminary research into MYOB for a friend and was
wondering if anyone used newish versions of MYOB on both Mac and
Windows – there were some older posts in the archives, which were
good but applied to older versions.
So the questions I can’t find good answers for are:
Can the same MYOB data file be used in AccountRight(Win) and
AccountEdge(Mac) and if so does it just need an extension change or
zipping etc?
Does anyone know if the network versions of either AccountRight or
AccountEdge can be used with both Mac and Windows clients – the
manuals only talk about clients from the same platform, they’re not
specific, surprise!
I know nothing about accounting but does anyone send their MYOB
files to an accountant and if so is it just the data file that you
send or do you do an export?
Thanks for any info on this as MYOB’s site isn’t too helpful and
reviews seem to overlook these details.
Chris.
