(This varies depending on the model of your modem as to the way to get into it, and what you're using to connect to the internet with.) Also, Telstra "may" have a feature in their Toolbox where you can see how often your modem is making a connection (or dropping it). iinet have this feature via web-login, so would assume Telstra may be the same.
