Hi, I am going overseas tomorrow and my children have an iPod touch and and iPod Nano that they want to take away with them. Today we tested to see if we could recharge them via the USB on my PowerBook G4 before going away, to minimise having to take things away.
The PowerBook running iTunes 9.2.1 and iPhoto '09 8.1.2, opened up immediately and gave me options like removing all of my date and replacing it with theirs and syncing this and that. I just pressed cancel. Though on iPhoto I do have a Devices - their iTouch name and in the Viewer window all of their photos even though I did not tell it to import it, at the moment it is still connected, ( I can't see an eject button in the iPhoto window, though there is one in the finder window.)
How would I go about ejecting the iTouch? I presume by the Finder window, but what to be sure. And how do I just use the PowerBook to recharge their devices without having all the import and sync bells and whistles going off?
As an aside I am also looking at using wifi on the PowerBook in Cork City Ireland does anyone have any recommendations on how to do it, I am an absolute novice, I am told I have to use a Dongle, and any good deals they may have had whilst in Cork City. I should be there about 5-6 weeks.
