Hi Rod,

It depends which measure you use. Peter is talking about market capitalization
-- the product of the number of shares outstanding and the share price. Apple
passed Microsoft earlier this year in terms of market capitalization but was at
the time, still behind it in revenue and profit. More recently Apple passed
Microsoft in revenue but is still behind it in profit. Overall, Apple is the
second largest company in terms of market capitalization behind only Exxon
Mobil. If current trends continue (and who knows with Europe looking shaky),
Apple will pass Exxon some time in 2011.

It's a pleasure to see that quality and taste sometimes does win out over
market manipulation and connivance. :-)

Cheers,
Carlo
