Yeah power usage is one of the huge advantages that SSD holds over traditional drives. At the moment I feel that SSD can only be justified for a laptop and that's one of the big reasons. I don't think you'd want to use an SSD to do alot of eyetv recording though since they are limited in the number of times you can write to the drive.
