Just as a matter of interest.
An attempt to open the AppleWorks files with Pages came up with a
message that Pages did not support this version of AppleWorks. A check
of the files with MacLink revealed that they were Clarisworks 3 files.
The files could be opened with AppleWorks 6 and saved as Word documents
but there was some some loss of format when opened in Word 98 for Mac.
The AppleWorks 6 files could be opened by Pages but Pages is very
particular about fonts and so formulae lost information. Saving the
AppleWorks 6 file in rtf produced the best result in Word.
Not knowing what version of Word Ray was using a Word and an rtf file,
each created from AppleWorks 6, were sent for Ray to examine. The rtf
file was the preferred format.
Cheers

Is there anyone who can convert Appleworks wordprocessor files to some form of
MS Word file?
I have received several old Appleworks wordprocessor files, but don't have
Appleworks. So, if you have the software and hardware to convert them to MS Word or
similar format, and are willing to convert these 20 files, then please send me your
email address at<[email protected]> so I can email you the files.
Many thanks.

If you have Pages, you can just open the AW documents directly in that, then
export them out as Word files.
