Stuart,

simple answer - Voice recorder - as you mentioned earlier.

Being a genuine Apple product it has access to true multitasking. It will continue to record in the background whilst other programs are running in the foreground. It is easy to set up and then download and save the recordings.

Simple but solid.

                     Regards,
                     Eugene

Hi Stuart

Because he asked to record phone calls.
Voice memo's won't do that.

I am a journo and need an app or something to plug into my iPhone

I have a digital recorder connected to my landline phone but
occasionally I have to do interviews in the field by phone.

Can anybody suggest a suitable app or a plug-in device that will do the job? (The person on the other end is always told the interview
is being recorded)

Hi David

There's quite a bit of info on this for the iPhone.
The google search "how to record calls on iPhone" netted the
following:-
<http://www.google.com.au/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=how+to+record+calls+
on+iPhone&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&redir_esc=&ei=NLidTaT7E4yiuQOKqKG8BA>

And the first link gave quite a few good apps and ways to do that.

Also, if you jump into iTunes, go to Apple Store then to Apps.
Search call
record and you'll get a few there as well.
One that showed up straight away on my quick search was "CallRec.me"
It's
free.

Easy!

Kind Regards
Daniel
