For those who are interested,
You can get non-genuine "Tonny" cartridges from Teg computers for:
Brother, Canon, Epson, Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Samsung, Sharp, Xerox &
Dell.
I have a Canon MP990 & cartridges cost me $7.80 each, I have been using
Tonny cartridges for many years on various printers without any problems,
they are recommended by PCUser magazine.

One of our considerations is that all three will accept non-genuine
