Yep, knew all that,..but thanks :)
The "slow down" for most of it at the moment is the "normal" drives only
spin at 7200rpm so the read speeds are fast enough for most Thunderbolt
cases.
Hence why LaCie have gone with SSDs drive in two of their three up in coming
enclosures.
One the price of optical fibre comes down then its forward compatible to
handle the 100Gb per second,...or what ever it is,... But they're hoping for
around 10GB/sec at the moment on the "normal" cable.
Good to know that the Thunderbolt ports made now will still handle the
faster things down the track...normally doesn't happen that way...lol
