As long as your computer is running properly at the moment you should be fine. 
Stick to the usual precautions as outlined by Ronni and you should have no 
problems. Every single Mac OS upgrade I can ever remember, going back to Mac OS 
8 and beyond, has been accompanied by a raft of issues by individual users for 
a multitude of individual reasons. Personally, I can't remember suffering any 
real problems following an OS upgrade to any version. The 10.6.8 update has 
been no exception.
