Stick to the usual precautions as outlined by Ronni and you should have no problems. Every single Mac OS upgrade I can ever remember, going back to Mac OS 8 and beyond, has been accompanied by a raft of issues by individual users for a multitude of individual reasons. Personally, I can't remember suffering any real problems following an OS upgrade to any version. The 10.6.8 update has been no exception.
