Hi Clinton,

1. You need to have the latest version of Perian installed.

DivX might interfere with Perian because Perian already covers DivX  and XviD. 

2. Uninstall DivX

Uninstall DivX and then manually removing ~Library/Application Support/DivX in 
the user's directory seems to work (with Perian installed).

If you are using Perian then you should remove all extra (3rd party) codecs 
that it supports such as DivX.  
These codecs include:
 
FFusion, Xvid Delegate, 3ivX, DivX, DivX Decoder, XviD, msmpeg4v1, msmpeg4v2, 
AviImporter, EX_M4S2, Casio AVI Importer, AC3 Codec, and MatroskaQT.

3. If you already have Perian installed you might then find you need to 
uninstall it and then install it again.

4. Flip4Mac 2.3.8.1 is current version.
