Update - Thanks for the replies. I use my trackpad as it's the easier than plugging in a separate mouse when I'm out presenting. I have't tried a USB mouse though, so I will give that a go. I also got a suggestion on twitter to switch to using an iphone app as my slide clicker instead of the logitech one, so I'm going to investigate that too. On my laptop I'm using OSX 10.5.8. I checked out under Universal Access if I had anything ticked. I don't seem too, although I could find 'Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present'.
