Hi Alex,

What car is it? Some cars Bluetooth systems don't work well with SIRI.
Your experience will vary greatly depending on the exact Bluetooth hardware 
being used.
 Vehicles may vary in the experience because they use multiple suppliers, each 
of whom may implement the specification differently. 

You need to press and hold the home button, which launches Siri. 
It takes about 2-3 seconds for the bluetooth to activate and bring sound from 
the phone over the speakers.
