Being currently in the process of writing an iPad early reading book for a client, I have been anticipating this event with excitement. The leaks and rumours were mostly accurate it seems. I have snapped up copies of the free iBooks2, and iTunes U iOS apps from iTunes, and the also free iBooks Author Mac app from the Mac App Store.
It seems that no textbooks are yet available in Australia -- at least the textbook category has not yet appeared in the iTunes book store. I have, however, happily grabbed some courses in the iTunes U app. Chemistry from Duke, and iPhone development from Stanford. The first two chapters of the amazing book shown in the Keynote presentation, "Life on Earth" by E.O. Wilson, are available for free!
