Good Morning Ronni I have previously reset the SMC the first time the problem occurred. As it is so infrequent I have not bothered again but will try your suggestions if/when it happens again. Frequency has only been about every 4-6 weeks and the number of occurrences has only been about 3 or 4. My query was really only a general one to see if anyone thought this was an indication of possible future problems. Hopefully, running the extended hardware test should indicate this and I will run it if the problem returns.
Many thanks for your help.
