Actually it is not really as complex as it looks. That diagram is what online marketing specialists show to business people to convince them that they need an online marketing specialist. Clear as mud?... Thats the point.
Frankly only the most popular services are really worth using and chances are you already know the most popular ones. The has-beens and also-rans can generally be safely ignored for most businesses. Someone with a unique niche market may need to consider some of the lesser known tools but generally the main ones are sufficient. And hey there is always good old (ethical) email marketing which can still be used quite effectively.
