Hi Peter,

I've been using my iPhone 4S all day, and I was using my iPhone "Personal
Hotspot" to my iPad sending and receiving emails, searching the Web for over
three hours and I still have 85% battery left.

First thing to do, is see how many Apps you have running in the background.

1.Double-Click the Home Button quickly, to see how many Apps are open.
2. then 'click on an App & hold' until the Apps wriggle with an (-) in a RED
circle, click that red circle to quit the apps.

If you are still having battery issues, check notifications etc:

Here Are 10 Ways To Improve Battery Life On The iPhone 4S:

1. Turn off location services in Settings>Location Services and switch it to
off for apps where location services aren’t important.
Having all your apps use GPS will quickly drain your battery.

2. Turn off Wi-Fi when you aren’t using it in Settings>Wi-Fi and switch it to
off.

3.Make sure Bluetooth is off in Settings>General>Bluetooth.

4.Turn off push data in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Fetch New
Data > and turn off push.
Fetching data at longer intervals will give you some extra battery life. Even
more so if you do it manually. Some apps, such as Facebook, have push
notification settings in Setting > [Facebook]. The brackets indicate the app
name.

5. Turn off vibration in Settings > Sounds and switch Vibrate to off. This is
more important if you get a lot of alerts throughout the day and don’t need
your phone on silent.

6. Turn on Auto-Brightness in Settings > Brightness and switch Auto-Brightness
to on.

7. Keep Auto-Lock at 1 minute in Settings > General > Auto-Lock and select 1
Minute.
This will turn off the screen if you forget to lock your phone.

8. Turn off Cellular Data in Settings > General > Network and switch Cellular
Data to off.

9. Turn the Equalizer off in Settings > Music > EQ and selecting off.

10. Restore your iPhone in iTunes.

Although some of these solutions will undoubtedly lengthen your iPhone’s
battery life, they are taking away from the selling points of the iPhone and
iOS 5 & iOS 6.
What good is notification centre if your notifications aren’t being pushed to
you?

Switching location services on and off repeatedly can be more of a hassle than
just letting it drain your battery. Owners of the iPhone 4S don’t get the
option to turn off 3G and use EDGE instead to save battery life, while using
slower connection speeds like all preceding iPhones do.

If cellular data is off, you can’t do more than use text messaging and make
phone calls, but who wants to limit their $799 / $899/ $999 investment to that?

You could always take the easy way out by ordering an external battery case,
like the Mophie Juice Pack, but that also raises the question of “why pay for
something that shouldn’t be a problem in the first place?”

Cheers,
Ronni
