Hi Barry, I replied to your first email asking if the Seagate was sleeping and waking correctly.
"Does the Seagate drive sleep and then wake when CCC is scheduled to do the daily backup? Sounds like perhaps the Seagate did not wake." CCC is looking for the external drive but not seeing it, which could indicate that the drive is not awake. Have you tried disconnecting the drive and reconnecting just before the incremental backup is due to run? Also you do have the Seagate formatted: GUID Partition Table and Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?
