I do not understand what you mean exactly...
I think you are running OS X 10.8.5 not OS X 10.5.8?

Do you mean Mac Pro plus one external display, or Mac Pro with 2 external

In Mission Control - you have setup 4 Desktops (virtual screens)... The 
"'Primary' - Desktop 1", plus Desktop 2, Desktop 3 & Desktop 4

When you restart your Mac it will always display your 'Primary' - Desktop 1
As Desktop 1 is always your Main Desktop.

All 4 Desktops should still be showing when you open Mission Control in the 
Dock?
Showing what ever wallpaper (background) & Applications or kind of programs you 
have 'assigned' to each Desktop, perhaps some you might have assigned to 'All' 
Desktops.
