For those interested, there's some quite interesting little "interview" snippets come up lately.
The links to them are as follows - "Tim Cook Speaks on Steve Jobs, Apple's Interest in TV, and Beats Acquisition in New Interview" http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/12/tim-cook-charlie-rose/ "Tim Cook Speaks on Privacy in New Interview: 'We Try Not to Collect Data' " http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/15/tim-cook-on-privacy/ They're not very long at all, and quite interesting. A few things I quite liked,… /quote In the first clip, Cook again comments on Steve Jobs' ongoing influence at Apple, saying Jobs is in his heart and deep in Apple's DNA. "His spirit will always be the foundation of the company," says Cook. Cook also gives one other interesting tidbit about Jobs -- his fourth floor office has remained untouched since his passing. /end quote That would be interesting to see his office still there and his name on the door,…untouched. /quote Our view is that when we design a new service we try not to collect data. So we're not reading your email. We're not reading your iMessage. If the government laid a subpoena on us to get your iMessages, we can't provide it. It's encrypted and we don't have a key. Our business is based on selling [products]. Our business is not based on having information about you. You are not our product. /end quote Quite an interesting one I thought as well,…. :o) They also mentioned about credit card info etc as well (given the recent ApplePay announced. I was just talking about this similar thing to a client today. Apple are more interested in knowing "how" you use the product, to define better ways to enhance it for you (and sell you more cool gadgets), rather then all the info that they can gather you do to direct advertise "to you". (Sorry,…poorly worded, but hopefully it makes sense,…lol - glad I don't have to write speeches or anything,…lol). Just thought others may find them interesting as well. Enjoy!
