Hi Laura I found I had downloaded the newest trial version of Printopia when I was looking in my Settings for something else. I opened it and seemed to behave as expected so I expect once your Printopia is upgraded you will have no problem either.
Given I use HandyPrint for printing from my iPad, I deleted Printopia again, having no use for it. I suggest you manually force Printopia to be check for an upgrade before upgrading to Yosemite.
