Hi Bill, Yes, you can upgrade directly to El Capitan from Mavericks. BUT first make sure you do the preparation before upgrading. Most importantly - 1. Make sure key software is up to date, and update any third-party software. 2. Remove clutter (add on, plugins etc) that could interfere with the upgrade, delete files you don't need anymore. 3. Test your RAM and your Disk for errors that could cause problems when installing or running El Capitan. 4. BACKUP BACKUP!!
