relevant information you gave me regarding the Bose unit etc.
My suggestions and information follow under your pasted message.

My Comments:
The Optical Cable might not be necessarily damaged.
Make sure you ONLY have the Optical Audio cable connected, you can't have more
than ONE cable connected or the Bose will have NO sound!
After connecting the optical audio cable to your TV, connect the other end to
your system. Use only one audio cable.
Optical cable (preferred)
CAUTION: Ensure you have removed the protective cap from both ends of the
optical cable. Inserting the plug in the wrong orientation can damage the plug
and/or the connector.
• Hold the optical cable’s plug with the Bose logo facing up.
• Align the plug with the Optical connector on the system and insert
the plug carefully.
• Note: The connector has a hinged door that swings inward when
inserting the plug.
• Firmly push the plug into the connector until you hear or feel a
click.
Connecting to power
• Plug one end of the power cord into the Power connector.
• Plug the other end into a live AC power (mains) outlet.
The system emits a tone.

Make sure you have the TV Speakers Sound turned OFF in your TV Settings. (you
might need to check your TV manual for setting details for optical audio cable)
Then on the Bose Remote confirm that the TV speakers are OFF
Confirming your TV speakers are off
1. Press the Mute button on the remote.
2. Check that no sound is coming from your TV.
Troubleshooting - No Audio
• Unmute the system.
• Increase the volume.
• Plug the audio cable into a connector on your TV labelled Audio Output or
Audio OUT, not Audio Input or Audio IN.
• Use only one audio cable.
• Secure all cable connections and ensure they are correct.
• Select the correct TV input.
• Enable your TV’s audio output and select the correct setting, such as such as
Stereo or 5.1 Channel Audio. Refer to your TV’s owner’s guide for more
information.
– Ensure that you are not using an optical cable and coaxial cable.

Hopefully either the new Optical Audio cable or changing a setting in your
Samsung TV settings will get your Bose unit working excellently as it should.
