Hi Severin.
Mine is December 2012, so 4 years old.
I used to have issues with is disconnecting and reconnecting a lot.
Then I read about AA batteries being slightly different lengths.
So I was advised to put some small pieces of folded aluminium foil at the
terminal ends.
This has the effect of packing out the battery and compensating for the shorter
ones.

I did this for about 12 months and had very little problem.
But I eventually removed the foil and since then no problems.
I must have acquired longer batteries lately !

I just wish Apple would produce a wired magic mouse !
I get a bit fed up with changing batteries.
That is why my keyboard is wired with a full numeric keypad.
