Alan I have been using Time Machine Editor for some time now and have had no problems with it. It allows me to schedule backups less frequently than the standard resulting in a longer period before the backup disk is full. This suits me as I generally make few changes during the day so fewer backups are OK.. If you are changing or entering a lot of data it may not be suitable.
