Good morning all WAMUG’ers,
I have finally taken the plunge and updated my 2010 iMac from OS 10.10 to OS
10.13.6 (High Sierra). The update hit a snag in that it gave me a message the
update could not be installed completely. After some panic on my part due to
the iMac not being able to boot I remembered Ronni’s advice to one of us not
that long ago on how to reinstall the OS.
High Sierra finally behaved as expected and all is well … except that the
latest purchased version of VM Ware Fusion could not be installed, not because
it required the very latest of OS but because my hardware was just too old! So,
a word of advice to those thinking of updating your OS and purchasing the
latest version of whatever applications you need is to check that the
application is also compatible with your hardware beside of the operating
system.
In my case having a later model of iMac I will be installing my purchased VM
Ware Fusion on it, but now for the hefty price of purchasing Windows 10!!
Have a great day and enjoy the beautiful sun.
Best regards,
Philippe Chaperon
