Hi Stephen My personal opinion “short answer” would be,..no, not straight away. lol. I tend to recommend waiting until the .1 update comes out. (they’re all ready working on it at the moment). Generally a .0 upgrade still has bugs once it’s “out in the wild” and more people are using it. So I tend to wait until 10.14.1 is out. Then see how it goes.
Long answer would be. If you’re happy that everything you have current will work with Mojave (i.e. software and hardware) and you have good backups (more then one) and a bootable backup “just incase”,….then possibly it’s worth looking out. I tend to find my workload increases when a .0 upgrade comes out and people install it. And then things change or don’t work. Whereas by .1 or .2 most (if not all) of the bugs tend to get fixed. So I find that’s a bit more of a safer bet. (Again, all of this is my own personal opinion and experience). I’ve got it installed on a small portable hard drive, so i can test the main Apps I use. I do this on my “home testing iMac”. Then I can make sure that everything works before I go and upgrade the computer fully. I don’t put it on my work laptop until I know things will work how I expect them too. Otherwise if something went wrong and I couldn’t use my work laptop,..then I’d be in trouble! lol. (I do the same with iOS upgrades as well. I put iOS12 on my iPad first before I do my iPhone once I know everything will work ok). If my iPad stops working it’s not the end of the world. If my iPhone stopped working,…well, I’d get a nice break but I’d have a lot of upset customers,…lol. And if both happened at the same time,..end of the world! :) hehe. So, not a definitive answer probably sorry,…but just my thoughts on it anyway. Others may have different views. It can also depend on the sort of things you’re running too. For some people it will install no problems If people use a lot of software or a lot of “third party add-ons” , then unless they’re all upgraded to work with Mojave then that’s when things don’t go too well. Hope something there helps.
